Actually some of us have been growing our own vegetables and fruits
(small farms in Decatur County grow their own cows, chickens and
pigs--but the farmers are old and dying out)--in some towns and cities
community gardens have become popular, and in really progressive towns
chickens are allowed.
Since Mike and I have grown accustomed to our own canned and frozen
vegetables and fruits, processed food really tastes terrible!
Pat Fuller and I went on an India Earthwatch Butterfly and Bees project
and studied the many causes of bee decline. One positive for city, town
and rural dwellers is planting bee friendly plants, and that has been
helpful providing food for the bees.
Organic labels are not always what the are advertised. Unless billions
of folks stand up against the practices of big ag we will always be
helpless. Phyllis

Presidential acknowledgement of the issue is significant, isn’t it? A
task force is not the “usual channels” which are clearly helpless against
Big Ag. And a Presidential task force puts the onus on Obama rather than
Vilsack —
Meanwhile, how many of you have switched to eating only organic? That’s
an easy first step. Save a bee yourself today.
