Subject: IA Support Needed:School Pest Mgmt Legislation

Dear Midwest Anti-Drift Coalition,

Thank you for your support of the School Environment Protection Act of 2001
(SEPA). Beyond Pesticides/NCAMP would like to work with you in activating
your membership on this issue.

As you are probably aware, SEPA (Senate amendment No. 805 to HR 1) has
recently passed the US Senate. This important piece of legislation now goes
to a House/Senate joint conference committee. Over the next couple of weeks,
the joint conference committee has the ability to amend this legislation. It
is EXTREMELY important that Congress knows that their constituents and
constituent groups support SEPA (S. AMDT 805) as a whole and without any
weakening amendments.

It is especially important that Senator Harkin hears from his constituents
as it looks like he may be appointed to the joint conference committee.
Individual letters and phone calls are the most powerful, otherwise people
can use a template/sample letter, send email, or fax their Congressmembers.
Please cc me a copy of all letters - so I can double our efforts in making
sure your voice gets heard.

Please contact me as soon as possible to discuss ways we can collaborate on
this project.

Determine who your Representative is by visiting the U.S. House of
Representatives web site at http://www.house.gov/writerep

Please see our website http://www.beyondpesticides.org for most up-to-date
information on this important piece of legislation. Do not hesitate to
contact me if you have any questions or comments.
