Last call for reservations for the Sierra Club Annual meeting on October 28

The Sierra Club Annual Meeting will be on October 28, 2017, at the IowaArboretum, 1875 Peach Ave, Madrid, IA.  Admissionis only $35.  If you would like toattend, email me at [log in to unmask] the end of the day on October 24.  Youcan pay at the door.


I hope you can joinus.  It will give you an opportunity todiscuss environmental issues with Sierra Club leaders and members from acrossthe state.


The fun-packed day includes:
9am   - hike led by Mark Edwards
11:00 - brunch, speaker, awards
1:30   - workshops on climate change and waterquality
3:30   - committee chair pitches
4:30   - adjourn
 
Guest Speaker – Jeffrey B. LeClere, author of A FieldGuide to the Amphibians and Reptiles of Iowa.  Reptiles and amphibians are indicatorspecies, which means their population health reflects the health of ourenvironment.  LeClere will discuss how our knowledge of reptiles andamphibians informs us on what we do about climate change, water issues, anddevelopment.
 
Chef – Donna Prizgintas, radio host and personal chef toHollywood celebrities.  Donna uses localfoods in creative and festive dishes.
