Not surprising, I guess. The SC National Political Committee once had
McInturff speak at a national training workshop. He was very forthright,
and confident. He said something like this: "If I thought the Democrats
could ever catch up with us, I wouldn't be telling you this. But I'm
confident they won't be able to. Even if they put something like this
together, we'll always be 5 years ahead of them."
Another interesting twist is that an Iowa Boy, Jack Zadow, is one of their
top direct mail fundraisers. He used to run a dinky printing and
advertising company in Waterloo; I hear from (or about) him every few
years. He runs a huge, but nearly invisible, operation out of little old
Albert City, IA. He's become a multi-multi-millionaire, of course.
