I will be going for the 4th year to this fantastic conference. The only
money I have spent is for some food and beverages So far, I am the only
Iowan attending and the club can have up to 7 Iowans in our delegation.
Please contact me or Lauren Hammond ASAP if you are interested in
attending. You don't even have to be a member of the Sierra Club to be in
our delegation.
Renewably yours,
Mike Carberry

                                                  Scholarships for the
Midwest Good Jobs Green Jobs Conference in Detroit!

The Sierra Club has some exciting news for members, volunteers, staff, and
allies! This year instead of a single national Good Jobs Green Jobs
Conference, there will be a regional conference held in Detroit. This two
day conference, *May 10-11,* will feature over 40 workshops on green
technology, green jobs, responsible investments, and environmental justice
in a green economy. Additionally there will be a panel of
environmentalists, labor union leaders, and energy specialists. The event
is an excellent opportunity to build coalitions around good jobs that are
also good for the environment. The conference details can be viewed at
http://www.greenjobsconference.org/

The Sierra Club is happy to announce that we will be sponsoring a
delegation to attend the conference. We hope to bring a diverse group of
Sierra Club volunteers, members, and other important allies to this event.
*Please contact me if you would like to be part of the sponsored
delegation, which would include paid registration fee, hotel, and
travel.* Please contact me with your interest in attending the
conference as a
sponsored delegate!!
