SF 259-prohibits counties and municipalities from
placing any restictions on the sale of seed including
genetically altered seed. This bill is now on the
floor of the Senate(and House) after passing the
appropriate committees.

SSB 1188- provides a tax credit for small producers of
alternative energy including wind turbines. It rejects
proposals locating wind turbines within a migratory
flyway.

Please ask your legislator to:

a) Expand the beverage container deposit to include
all non-carbonated beverages excluding milk

b) Require all dealers that sell beverages to redeem
containers for deposit on-site

c)Increase the reimbursement amount recieved by a
dealer or redemption center from 1 cent to 2or 3 cents
per container

d) Provide the Iowa DNR with the power to enforce the
law including fines for violators
