The Loess Hills Preservation Society will hold it spring meeting 
7PM  April 24 at Council Bluffs Iowa Public Library 400 Willow Ave.
We are pleased to present John Price writer and instructor of English 
at University of Nebraska Omaha. The title of John's presentation 
will be: Not Just Any Land: A Personal and Literary Journey into the 
American Grasslands.  He will read sections from his memoir and 
talking about his journey, as a Midwesterner and writer, toward a 
conscious commitment to the prairie landscapes of home. The audience 
will be invited to ask questions and share their own stories of 
learning to love the prairies.

BIO: John Price is the author of Not Just Any Land: A Personal and 
Literary Journey into the American Grasslands (U. of Nebraska Press, 
2004), and a forthcoming memoir, Man Killed by Pheasant (and other 
kinships). He is a recipient of a creative writing fellowship from 
the National Endowment for the Arts, and his nature essays have 
appeared in such national publications as Orion, The Christian 
Science Monitor, and Best Spiritual Writing 2000. He lives in Council 
Bluffs, and teaches at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where he 
is the Jefferis Endowed Chair of English
