Below are the new bills introduced this past couple of weeks which I have
included in my database for tracking for Sierra. You should be able to click
on the weblink and it will take you to the bill text if you want to see
that.

Obviously not much has happened on most of them. The Appropriations
Subcommittees have begun listening to presentations from the Departments. No
budget targets have been announced as of this writing for the budget
subcomittees. They wonıt be pretty, though!

Certainly it can be emphasized that the Renewable bill is one of the higher
priorities for legislators this year. I do believe we will pass some
renewable bill, from my conversations with committee chairs and leadership.

I do not believe there will be any legislation of significance on CAFOs this
year. Probably none at all.

Those companion bills relating to the Garnovillo issue are problematic and
we will need to watch them, but I have no indication yet that the committees
intend to pass them out. We will monitor closely, and a few letters to
committee members would be good.

The Session continues to be very slow, although now that quite a few bills
have been introduced committee action is picking up speed, and floor action
will beging to occur more frequently. Funnel Day is only 2 weeks from
tomorrow, so lots will happen in those next 2 weeks.

NOTE: Add this list to the last two, and you have the accumulation of the
bills we are following. After the funnel narrows them down, we can delete
these lists, and track the smaller list.

More later.

Lyle
