Below are the new bills introduced this past couple of weeks which I have
included in my database for tracking for Sierra. You should be able to click
on the weblink and it will take you to the bill history with a link there to
the bill text if you want to see that.

BUDGET

The Appropriations Subcommittees have been listening to presentations from
the Departments. Majority Party (Republican) budget targets have been
announced as of this writing for the budget subcomittees. The DNR budget
target is exactly the same as the Governoršs recommendation at this time.
The subcommittee acts within that target figure to make programmatic
allocations.

RENEWABLE ENERGY

Certainly it can be emphasized that the Renewable bill is one of the higher
priorities for legislators this year. I do believe we will pass some
renewable bill, from my conversations with committee chairs and leadership.

I reported to you earlier in the week about the Senate Commerce Committee
action on the renewables bill. We are working to develop an energy
efficiency idea as well.

FUNNEL WEEK

The Session has picked up speed now that quite a few bills have been
introduced with increased committee actions, and floor action will becoming
more frequent. Funnel Day is this Friday, so lots will happen in those next
few days.

NOTE: Add this list to the last three, and you have the accumulation of the
bills we are following. After the funnel narrows them down, we can delete
these lists, and track the smaller list.

More later.

Lyle
