about the issue of Local Control of animal factories.
SSB 1140 is a study bill for an act regulating confinement feeding
operations by providing for the evaluation of applications to construct
confinement feeding operation structures. This is Sen. Kibbie's bill to
strengthen the county matrix scoring on CAFOs, by requiring attainment of
certain scores, scores in all categories, and providing that points can be
deducted as well as added.
It will come up in Senate Agriculture Committee probably tomorrow, perhaps
Wednesday. Your emails or phone calls to Senate Agriculture Committee
members will help to achieve committee action on SSB 1140.
