Sierra Club Board of Directors Announces President and Officers
San Francisco, CA -- Sierra Club's national board of directors has elected officers for the upcoming board term, which began May 17. David Scott of Ohio was reelected as president. Scott is a longtime Sierra Club leader and environmental activist who served as Sierra Club vice president for three years before being elected president in 2013.

"Our nation and the world face historic choices about climate disruption, and the need to embrace clean energy solutions such as wind and solar power couldn’t be more urgent," Scott said. "I look forward to building on the progress we have made in protecting our health, climate and environment.”

The board of directors is elected by Sierra Club members and serves the organization's 2.4 million members and supporters. As president, Scott will continue to work with volunteer leaders, Sierra Club Executive Director Michael Brune, and other staff to protect and restore the quality of the natural and human environment.

Other newly announced officers are Spencer Black of Wisconsin (returning vice president), Lane Boldman of Kentucky (returning secretary), Loren Blackford of New York (newly elected treasurer) and Susana Reyes of California (fifth officer), making up the executive committee of the national board of directors.
