Dear Thomas,

Thank YOU for standing up to demand health care for Beatriz, a pregnant
mother in El Salvador who could have died after being denied life-saving
treatment.

Beatriz finally received treatment yesterday. You, along with hundreds of
thousands of activists around the globe, created critical public pressure.
Your messages, tweets, solidarity photos and activism pushed officials to
save her life -- and they meant the world to Beatriz, her family, and those
in El Salvador campaigning tirelessly on her behalf.

Beatriz is now recovering. _Add your well wishes to the #SaveBeatriz photo
stream._

This appalling situation should never have occurred in the first place: no
one should be subjected to cruel, inhumane or degrading treatment when
attempting to access medical treatment necessary for their life or health.
This is one of the reasons why Amnesty International has launched My Body My
Rights, a global campaign focused on sexual and reproductive health rights.

Beatriz's human rights were violated at every step. _Let her know you
care by sending a "get well" message_
(http://www.kintera.org/TR.asp?a=9gKOJXPAIfLMKYPKF&s=7fLJKXMzHhLMLROrHjE&m=afIIJXOzGbIKJ5L) and stay tuned for
future My Body My Rights campaigning opportunities.

In solidarity,

Cristina Finch
