FISH KILL REPORTED AT LEE COUNTY POND

FORT MADISON - The DNR is investigating a fish kill in a Lee County quarry pond on Tuesday.

 

DNR environmental services and fisheries staff is on the scene at Trumpeter Swan Marsh south of Fort Madison, looking for causes of the fish kill. The kill appears to have affected largemouth bass, crappie, bluegill and catfish. The DNR is conducting a count of killed fish on Tuesday. 

 

The DNR has collected water samples and is awaiting results of those tests. The investigation is ongoing.
