Sierra Club, Central Iowa -- Wednesday, February 17th - 7:30 p.m.
A Geological Perspective on the Iowa Landscape
Iowa has a remarkable diversity of terrain and an interesting landscape
history that can be traced from these various topographic features. We
will look at the state's landform regions, the geological processes behind
what we see, how these geologic features relate to other aspects of Iowa's
natural and cultural history, and why it is important to know something
about them.
The Central Iowa Sierra Club program will held Wednesday,
February 17, at 7:30 p.m., presented by Jean Prior, Senior Research
Geologist of the Geological Survey Bureau in Iowa City. Programs are held
in the lower level of Grace United Methodist Church, located at 37th and
Cottage Grove in Des Moines.
