Sierra Club Annual Dinner Keynote Speaker changeJack...what a twist of fate and unforseen luck that we will hear Laura speak Sat. She did landmark research several years ago on CAFO land and air application of manure which undoubtedly was an early player in the legislation now bearing down on this industry. Thank you for your committment in providing we Sierrans with this insightful guest! Cathy Livingston

Subject: Sierra Club Annual Dinner Keynote Speaker change
For unforeseen reasons the original keynote speaker for the Sierra Club Annual Dinner cancelled. Sometimes good things result from what appears an unfortunate situation. Our new speaker is Laura Jackson, Conservation Biologist at the University of Northern Iowa. She has just come out with a new book which she edited with her mother, Dana Jackson. Dana, is the Associate Director of the Land Stewardship Project in Minnesota. Their book is titled: The Farm as Natural Habitat: Reconnecting Food Systems with Ecosystems.
To find out more about the book you can go to: www.landstewardshipproject.org/programs-agroecobook.html
Laura is bursting with insights concerning the way we grow food and how that has repercussions on nature, the environment, and on us. Her studies have led her to solutions that are surprisingly simple and effective. Laura is a breath of fresh air and you won't want to miss this opportunity to hear her speak.
