For immediate release: January 9, 2010

BOIL, WATER CONSERVATION ADVISORY LIFTED FOR CITY OF REDFIELD IN DALLAS COUNTY

REDFIELD – A water boil and conservation advisory issued for the city of Redfield has been lifted after water samples tested negative for bacteria.

The advisories were issued after the city had a major water main break in the water system on Jan. 6. Due to the potential for bacterial contamination, it was recommended that the water be boiled before using for drinking or cooking or that an alternative source be used. The city was also asking that customers conserve water use until repairs could be made.

The water main break that triggered the advisories has been repaired.

For more information, please contact David Perry of the DNR at 515-250-1798 or Redfield Mayor Darci Alt, at 515-669-1780.
