While Sarah Palin hails Salazar's support of Bush's plan to eliminate gas
and oil from protection for the Polar Bear and global warming under the
Endangered Species Act, the Bureau of Land Management's Arctic Field
Office announced on April 30 that tundra travel in the National Petroleum
Reserve is prohibited until next winter beginning today (Friday, May 1)

Ice roads and snow packed trails have become soft and impassable. All
stream crossings have been breached according to a BLM press release.
For more information, call Mike Worley at 474-2309 or the Arctic Field
Office at 474-2200.
