Hello,

I wanted to send out a list of the applications that we have received so
far
for the upcoming Training Academy program in Nebraska City, Nebraska at the
Lied Conference Center at the Arbor Day Farm on September 20-22, 2002 so
you
can track your recruiting efforts.

REMINDER: The deadline for applications for this training is Friday, July
26
because we have to get preliminary numbers to our facility in terms of
people
coming, but I have EXTENDED IT TO FRIDAY, AUGUST 9. The maximum number of
participants we can accept is 50, but we should recruit at least 60 folks
to take places when there are the inevitable cancellations. Please try to
encourage people to apply early so that we can make room and board
arrangements for them, and to make inexpensive flight arrangements if that
is required.

I have included a box on the application for folks to fill in if they need
travel
scholarships to help with expenses and that is an option for folks in your
area
that are dubious about the distance to this site. I love having a diverse
crowd
at these trainings, it helps people feel less alone in their work.

If you are a staff member and would like to participate or to attend as a
tracker/
help with the training, you need to fill in an application as well so I can
make
arrangements for you. Please apply by the deadline to assure space.

Let me know if you have any other questions. Again, you can direct people
to more
information about the training and an online application at
http://mitchell.sierraclub.org/leaders/training/training_calendar.asp.
Also, let me
know if you need more invites to mail out to folks and I can send them your
way as
well. Finally, I also have an email invite that I can send to you if you
want to forward that around as well.

Take care,

-liz
