For what it's worth, Stanwood is in Cedar County. There is a Rock Creek in
Clinton County but I have not heard of a West Rock Creek. Jerry

> DNR INVESTIGATES MANURE SPILL IN CEDAR COUNTY
>
> STANWOOD – An open valve on a storage tank resulted in manure reaching an
> unnamed tributary of West Rock Creek southwest of Stanwood in Clinton County
on
> Saturday.
>
> Manure was being transferred from a hog confinement building to an 800,000
> gallon slurry storage tank at an operation owned by David Litscher of
Stanwood.
> A valve left open on the tank resulted in manure flowing through a grass
> waterway where it eventually reached a tile line. A few dead minnows were
found
> in the unnamed tributary of the West Rock Creek below the tile outlet, but no
> dead fish were found in the larger creek approximately 150-200 yards
downstream.
>
> While West Rock Creek did not appear to be impacted on Saturday, DNR
> environmental specialists plan to return on Sunday to do further observation.
>
> The manure spill was reported to the DNR on Saturday afternoon by Litscher
soon
> after discovery of the open valve.
