Greetings,

Being a new member of the Iowa Sierra Club, formaly a member of the North
Star (Minnesota) Sierra Club Chapter who moved here to Iowa last August. I
like to volunteer as an outings leader, here are a couple ideas I have for
Sierra Club Outings:

Weekend Retreat to the North Woods - Dates open depending on interests
        A long 3 day weekend x-country skiing, hiking, ice fishing, or snowshoeing
at Itasca State Park in northern Minnesota. Accomdations at a AYH Hostel
(Mississippi Headwater) within the park. This is a 250 mile drive from
Minneapolis. This is a very popular winter retreat for various groups from
Minnesota and worth the drive from Iowa. I'm thinking sometime in late Feb.

Downhill Skiing at Lutsen - Dates open depending on interests
        Another long weekend opportunity for any downhill or x-country skiers.
Lutsen is 250 miles north of Mineapolis on the beauiful north shore of Lake
Superior. Various local hotels/motels offer weekend stay & ski packages from
$99/person for 2 nights lodging and 2 days lift tickets. This is a great
