Trees Forever Celebration
Nov 7-8, Ames
"Native People, Native Plants," at the ISU Memorial Union, offers free
workshops on such topics as Planning and Planting Projects Using Iowa's
Native Plants, Cultural Considerations for Archaeological Clearance, Trees
and Fungi, and Oak Savanna Restoration and Reconstruction.  Highlights
include 2002 Nobel Peace Prize nominee, Maria Pearson "Running Moccasins,"
Coordinator of Indian Affairs for Connecticut, Ed Sarabina "Stock-Waan," and
a sneak preview of Spirit of the Trees, an educational video series produced

ISU Errington Lecture
Nov 11, Ames
Dr. Mike Dombeck, an ISU-trained biologist and former Chief of the U.S.
Forest Service, will give a public lecture on "conservation challenges" at 8
p.m.  A reception in the atrium of the Molecular Biology Building will
