Went down to Keosauqua Unit of Shimek Forest hoping to catch sight of
that Townsend's Solitaire. Found Chuck Fuller's marker but no bird.
Instead got good looks at two Hermit Thrushes, one near the marker and
another on the south side of the evergreen woods near the ground just at
the edge to a field. Across the road at parking area for Seguma Lake
(off of 235th) saw a gathering of bluebirds (at least a dozen) who
seemed very interested in a large brush pile right by the lake. Would
have liked to have seen that Townsend's, however it's always fun to
explore a new area and get some excellent views of some other bird
treasures. Thanks Chuck Fuller for the posting.
