Mike -

National Climate Advocates:

** **

This is to ask you to make a special effort this week to contact your
Congressional representatives and Senators by calling them at their ****
Washington**, **DC****, offices to oppose the Keystone “Export” pipeline.
It is expected that the House of Representatives will vote on a bill to
suspend the administrative process and force President Obama to approve the
Keystone XL pipeline.

** **

This is an opportunity to educate Congress about the growing opposition to
the pipeline – because it will hurt the climate, threaten our waters, allow
condemnation of American farms and ranches, and bypass American consumers
for sale on the global market – and the growing support for action to fight
climate change.

** **

Then, in June, I encourage you to call your Congressional representatives
and Senators again to support carbon fee and dividend legislation and other
action to fight climate change in 2013. This is the “Climate Phone-A-Thon”
– it is low-cost, easy-to-do, and urgently needed for Americans to speak up
in favor of climate action. Once you or your group have made your calls,
report them to me at [log in to unmask]

*Other Upcoming Events and News*

** **

*June 23 to June 25 – Washington, DC* – Citizens Climate Lobby Conference
and Lobby Days – For more details, visit www.citizensclimatelobby.org. CCL
is doing district-by-district organizing to support carbon fee and dividend
legislation that would put a price on carbon and return the money to
Americans. That policy is one of many actions we need in the fight against
climate change. For those unable to attend the CCL conference, try to
organize group phone calls from your Congressional district on June 24 and
June 25 to support the CCL Lobby Days as part of the “Climate Phone-A-Thon.”

** **

*July 15 to July 31 – “Summer Heat” Across America* – This is a project of
350.org – As carbon dioxide levels rise above 400 parts per million for the
first time in human history, “Summer Heat” is an effort to get many
thousands of Americans to stand up for our future by supporting the fight
against climate change. For more details, visit www.joinsummerheat.org.
With your help, we can hold a “summer heat” event in every Congressional
district in **America**.

** **

*August 17 to August 29 – Book Tour of New Hampshire and New England* – I
am continuing to promote my new book, *America’s Climate Century: What
Climate Change Means For America in the 21st Century and What Americans Can
Do About It*, with the hope that it will help Americans understand the
climate issue and take the climate action we so urgently need for our
future. It is a 120-page call to action that explains the science, the
consequences, and the solutions to climate change – and why Americans
should lead the world in the fight against it. I have now sold over 400
copies of the book.

** **

Between August 17 and August 29, I am bringing my book tour from **Iowa**to
**New Hampshire** and **New England**. If you or people you know would
like to host a book event in **New Hampshire** or **New England** during
those dates, please let me know.

** **

The book is currently available for $10.95 or less through Amazon – both as
a paperback and as a Kindle book – in addition to various book stores in **
Iowa**. I can also ship bulk orders for book clubs and groups at a
discount. It also makes a great gift for high school or college
graduation. If you like the book, please like it on Facebook, and let your
friends, family, and colleagues across the country know about it.

** **

*March 1 to ****November 1, 2014**** – Great March for Climate Action* –
One thousand people are organizing to march 3000 miles across our country
next year from the West Coast to ****Washington**, **DC****, to demand
action on climate change. To get involved, contact Ed Fallon in ****Des
Moines**, **Iowa****, at 855-35-MARCH (855-356-2724), or by email at
[log in to unmask]

** **

I hope this information is helpful. Please keep up your advocacy for the
climate action we so urgently need for our future.
