Fun Volunteer Opportunity!

Sierra Club CDC, IowaPIRG and Apollo Alliance are working together on a
"Clean Energy Caravan" before Saturday's Jefferson Jackson Dinner in Des
Moines. This would consist of a couple car loads of clean energy advocates
showing up at the various candidate campaign rallies before the JJ Dinner,
and then capping off with a small rally outside the Veterans Memorial
Auditorium where the dinner itself is taking place.

At the final rally we are trying to have IRENEW's "Solar Traveler" powering
up a Clean Energy Coffee maker or a Don't Pop Our Crop Popcorn machine or
something else more creative that we could hand to folks on their way into
the dinner. Other material like stickers and placards will be handed out or
used as well. I think this will be a really exciting atmosphere to
highlight the Solar Traveler and the feasibility of clean energy to help
Iowa and America achieve energy independence.

Apollo, IowaPIRG and the Sierra Club need volunteers to help make this a
success. Obviously short notice.....but can you help. Please responde via
email and I will provide directions and details. This will take from 2:30 to
6 pm, or whatever chunk of that you can help with.

WE REALLY NEED YOU!

First, we will send car loads of clean energy volunteers to four pre-JJ
rallies around town (Dean, Gephardt, Kerry and Edwards). We are still
working out the timing, but we would like to bring 4 car loads of clean
energy volunteers to each rally, talk to the candidates, staff and the
media, and do our bird-dog thing for about twenty minutes at each rally.

We will need volunteers for all events.

Second, we will hold a clean energy rally outside the Vets Auditorium with
giveaways such as stickers, tote bags starting at 4:30 before people arrive
for the event. We will work to get each candidate to stop at out Clean
Energy rally.

Please consider having a fun Saturday afternoon, tomorrow November 15, with
your Sierra Club, PIRG and Apollo friends.

Thanks.

Lyle
