                  Hello Everyone,

I hope you all have been having a great summer!

At IowaGlobalWarming, we've been busy covering candidate events all over the state. So far this summer we've been to over a hundred candidate events from both sides of the aisle. While we love doing our candidate intercepts, we're really excited about some different events we have coming up in the next few weeks and we could really use your help!

Sunday, August 5th, 7 am, Drake University - ABC News with George Stephanopoulos is hosting a forum with all of the Republican presidential candidates. We need volunteersto wear tee-shirts and hold signs in front of Sheslow Auditorium. It's a great opportunity to show theRepublican slate of candidates andthe national media how much Iowans care about the environment.

We will meet in the parking lot between Forest and Carpenter on 25th Street and walk to Sheslow which is on Carpenter at 7 am.

The forum begins at 8 am, but our mission is to be visible before the forum in front of the auditorium. We only need your help for an hour or so, early Sunday morning.

Saturday, August 11th, Republican Straw Poll, Ames - We've noticed that both Republicans and Democrats are starting to take the issue of Global Warming seriously. Where better to show Republicans that Iowans want them talking about this than at the Ames Straw Poll? The straw poll will be the largest gathering of republicans before the January caucuses. An expected crowd of 20,000 - 30,000 republicans will listen to speeches and then vote for their favorite candidate.

We will car pool volunteers from Des Moines to ISU, meet other central Iowa volunteers at a staging area, then walk in mass to the straw poll wearing a specially designed tee-shirt. This tee-shirt will feature the U-tube "snowman" with a family values theme. We will have petitions and a small card to hand out to interested people.

We are planning on meeting in DM at 8:30 am in the parking lot on E. Walnut, between E. 6th and E. 7th street, being at the ISU staging area by 9:45, walk to the event at 10 and be finished by noon.

To be noticed in a crowd of 30,000 people we need at least 50 volunteers in our special 'snowman' tee-shirt. This will be a great opportunity to get our global warming message out.

If you have not been to our web-site lately, please go to www.iowaglobalwarming.org and see the latest video and audio recordings of the Presidential candidates and see what they have to say about global warming.

Please contact me if you would be willing to ask a presidential candidate a question or send in a letter to the editor. We must keep global warming a priority issue for all candidates.
