David Zahrt, long-time Sierra Club member, posted this notice on the Iowa Native Plant listserv and he gave me permission to post it here.

Jane Clark

We're confident that this list includes the kind of people with whom we would be interested in talking , who may be interested in the fact that we are making a transition, and/or may know someone who would be interested.

Lin and David returned to the farm on the West Slope of the Loess Hills in 1990 so that Dad and Mother could live their lives to completion right here on the Homestead. David did some farming, joined Practical Farmers of Iowa (PFI), did some managed grazing, discovered we had native prairie and was raising cattle for a hobby. David has since 'retired' from farming. We've continued at the task of protecting, harvesting, restoring, and re-constructing our Loess Hills prairie.

We've now reached the age Mother and Dad were when we returned, and there is no one in the family returning! It may not surprise you that we are beginning to ask ourselves what the future will hold.

We would love to find a family that is looking for our kind of place and help them make the transition to the Homestead. Eventually we will be gone and they will have the Homestead.

The question we are searching to answer is, "Where do we cast our net to catch the kind of prospect we would love to have?"

We can send a detailed description of the property if you have interest in knowing more.

 David
