In fact, most "environmntal lawyers" represent industry, polluters, developers, etc. because that's where the money is. I am a member of the Iowa Bar Association Environmental Law Section and I am the only member who consistently represents the environment. To paraphrase the old addage about shools and the Pentagon, "When the environmental groups have all the money they need, and industries and the Farm Bureau have to hold bake sales, the environment will be protected."

"Flood control dams have no relation to the cause of floods. Check dams and terraces do not touch the cause of erosion...The practices we now call conservation are, to a large extent, local alleviations of biotic pain. They are necessary, but they must not be confused with cures." (Aldo Leopold)
