A subscriber sent me a note  with a web site that shows Justice Scalia's
opinion for the Court on a decision that might be the one during which he
supposedly made the comments in the last paragraph of my earlier posting.

I did check the site, and there is certainly no such unjudicial sounding (to
me) language--it seems to be a procedural decision holding that the  Court
does not have jurisdiction to hear the case.  So I am doing now what I wish
I had done earlier--asking the Election Countdown Committee at national
Sierra what case they were referring to and just what were his actual words.
 I'll post their answer.
