"One Voice: Environmental Lobby Day" features tons of FREE FOOD
February 12, State Capitol

A few days before the first funnel day of the 2002 session bring your voice
to our democracy.  And by some stroke of luck, the Council's Lobby Day falls
on the same day as the Taste of Iowa.

To facilitate passage of adequate controls on CAFO's the Council is
coordinating a Lobby Day at the Capitol.  A strong showing is crucial.
Please notify your organization's members and help to ensure some level of
participation-be it a small group, or a single individual.

Throughout the day the Council will provide information on pending bills and
desired actions, as well as legislative contact information-so stop by
whenever you can during the day.

A legislative and press briefing will take place in Room 118 from Noon to
1:00 p.m.

Taste of Iowa will be serving 40 tables of FREE FOOD from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00
p.m.

Carpools are forming in Eastern Iowa.   For carpooling information and

Note from Erin:  All Sierra Club members are encouraged to attend the
environmental lobby day.  Other environmental issues besides CAFOs, such as
fish kills/chemical spills and the bottle bill, can also be discussed that
