local foods conference and policy panelThis is from I-CAN.

----------

Here is information about the Iowa Network for Community Agriculturešs (INCA) Local Food Conference. Rich Dana of the Iowa Farmers Union will facilitate a public policy panel on Saturday.

The two day conference is a multi-faceted look at the food system and speakers will examine the effects of fresh, Iowa food from farms to Iowa tables. Wešll be looking at growing, cooking, selling, buying, and processing food. There are lots of emerging opportunities in this area. Please forward this to anyone who might be interested in participating in this conference.

The Iowa Network for Community Agriculture (INCA) will hold its 11th Annual Local Food Conference in Urbandale on February 3rd and 4th. The annual conference is a celebration and exploration of all things possible around the potential of Iowans growing food for their fellow Iowans. The conference takes a food systems approach and covers everything from the farm to the table. Both days of the conference will be at Walnut Hills United Methodist Church in Urbandale.

WE HAVE FULL SCHOLARSHIPS FOR STUDENTS FOR EITHER OR BOTH DAYS thanks to the Leopold Center for Sustainable Agriculture.

For registration information, go to the INCA website at www.growinca.org <http://www.growinca.org/> Participants can attend either day or both days of the conference. An early registration discount is available until January 27. AND A LIMITED NUMBER OF FULL STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS ARE AVAILABLE UNTIL THEN AS WELL.
