DEMOCRACY CRISIS
And its impact on the environment
The program DEMOCRACY CRISIS discusses how corporations procured so much 
legal power to themselves and also demonstrates how corporate rights trump 
the rights of communities and environmentalists in working for environmental 
justice. Marybeth Gardam will be giving this presentation to Sierra Club. 
Central Iowa Sierra public programs are now held at Northwest Community 
Center, 51st Street and Franklin Avenue in Des Moines.  Contact Jane at

THURSDAY, JANUARY 20
Related to the Sierra program is the following opportunity for advocacy
PROTEST the CORPORATE takeover of DEMOCRACY
11am - 1pm - Rotunda of the Iowa Capitol
Dress in Black and participate in funeral march for democracy.
Hear resolution to demand state and federal regulation of corporate spending 
in elections, read by Rep. Chuck Isenhart.  Weigh in on why this matters for 
our self-governance!

Help build We the People's movement on the anniversary of the Supreme Court 
ruling Citizens United v FEC that gave corporations unlimited power to buy 
our elections anonymously.

Overrule the Supreme Court with a 28th Amendment
Human rights for human beings, not to absolve corporations!
 AMEND the CONSTITUTION
    MEND our DEMOCRACY and
       END CORPORATE RULE !
