There  is an interesting article in the current (March/April) issue of  The
Iowan  magazine about the alternative some Iowa farmers have found to
raising hogs in CAFOs.  They are raising hogs for Niman Ranch pork--with no
antibiotics or hormones, and with access to pastures and pens with bedding.
 Niman Ranch is paying them premium prices for their meat because they
believe it tastes so much better than that from hogs raised in the large
confinements.
