On April 3rd, at 6:30 PM at the State Capitol there will be a public hearing
on the Bottle Bill.
Also on April 3rd at 4:00 PM at the State Capitol there will be a rally in
support of the Bottle Bill. We need everyone to come and bring friends,
family, coworkers, etc. This is the last best chance to truly protect and
expand the Bottle Bill and to defeat the anti-bottle bills that
Bartz/Brunkhorst have proposed.
This is it! On April 3rd, we need the Statehouse overflowing with
supporters
of the Bottle Bill and we need the public hearing overflowing with speakers
in support of protecting and expanding the bottle bill.
One last reminder about the April 3rd Bottle Bill events.
Governor Ray, Governor Branstad, and Governor Vilsack have all agreed to
speak at the Bottle Bill Rally. This is a rare opportunity when 3 Governors
of two political parties agree so fully on an environmental issue -- this
agreement demonstrates the success of the Bottle Bill, not only in keeping
Iowa clean but in bringing us together as Iowans to solve problems with
common sense and creativity. Please make an effort to attend these events,
to meet and thank the three Governors, and to speak at the Bottle Bill
Hearing. Those who oppose the Bottle Bill have signed up as many speakers
for the Hearing as those who support it. Please remember that 86% of Iowans
support the Bottle Bill, 77% want to see it expanded. Please spread the
word
about these events, bring a few friends and family, and come show your
support.
