Iowa Department of Natural Resources Director Richard Leopold has issued the following statement regarding the tragic death of former state representative Barbara Finch:

“Today, we join others in voicing our deepest, most sincere sorrow at the passing of former state representative Barbara Finch. I have had the distinct pleasure and honor of serving with Barb during the historic work that has been done in advancing sustainable funding for natural resources in Iowa. During this time, she has been a tireless advocate for bringing sustainable funding to our state. Her leadership and vision will be sorely missed, but her work leaves behind a legacy that will benefit generations of Iowans who follow. Our deepest sympathy is extended to her loved ones.”
