Email your thanks to Harkin and your disappointment to Grassley (see below
for the vote count).  Even though it failed, we still have work to do on
other Farm Bill amendments.  Keep those calls coming.

I am very sorry to report that the Wellstone amendment to limit EQIP grants
to CAFOs was defeated this afternoon by a vote of 44-52.  The vote count is
below.  Since the House-passed Farm Bill provides even more generous
subsidies to CAFOs, it is now certain that some of our tax dollars will be
going to construct waste lagoons at CAFOs.

Thanks to everyone who worked to stop this.  I had thought we were going to
lose by a much wider margin.  If your Senators voted with us, please thank
them.  If they opposed the amendment, please admonish them.
