"Voices of Iowa Farm Women" Exhibit and Presentation
to be Featured at State Fair

DES MOINES-Seven Iowa women farmers will be featured in a video presentation
and public discussion at the Iowa State Fair on August 14, from 2 - 3 P.M.
in the Agriculture Building.

Cynthia Vagnetti, Cinzia Productions, has created a video and traveling
photo exhibit to engage the public in critical thinking and disciplined
dialogue on the role of women in American agriculture. The booth and public
discussion gives Iowa farm women the opportunity to tell their own story in
this pivotal moment in the historic transformation of American agriculture.
The video shows how women have created successful alternatives to
conventional farming practices.

Following the video presentation will be a panel discussion led by author
and retired Iowa State Historian Dorothy Schweider.

The program is sponsored by Women, Food and Agriculture Network and the Iowa
Farmer's Union. The twenty minute video will feature Iowa farmers Cindy
Madsen of Audubon, Laura Krouse of Mt. Vernon, Janette Ryan-Busch of Iowa
City, Jan Libbey of Kanawha, Amy Miller of Cresco, Virginia Moser of
Garrison and Susan Zacarachis-Jutz, Solon.

Featured along with the video is a display of thirty black and white
pictures from the traveling exhibit, VOICES OF AMERICAN FARM WOMEN at booth
#30 on the second floor of the Agriculture Building.

This project was funded by Humanities Iowa, the Cavalier Foundation
and the Iowa Women's Foundation
