"Support Family Farms and Rural Communities"
Rally and Lobby Day
Tuesday, January 14th, 2003
10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
State Capitol Building- Des Moines

Come out and support Family Farms! Clean Air and Water! Clean Election
Laws!

People across the state who are fighting factory farms and corporate
concentration in agriculture will gather at the State Capitol at 10 a.m. on
Tuesday, January 14th for a "Support Family Farms and Rural Communities"
rally and lobby day. The rally will start at 11 a.m. in the first floor
rotunda, immediately after the Governor's state of the state address (which
starts at 10 a.m. in the 2nd floor House chambers of the Capitol.)

This promises to be a big event. We need a big turn-out to keep the pressure
on legislative leaders and Governor Vilsack. They need to know -- we want
action, not lip service!

Representatives from various family farm, rural advocacy, labor and church
groups will be at the rally. During the day we'll meet with Governor
Vilsack, key state legislators, and state agency officials to push for
policies that promote family farms, sustain rural communities, and protect
the environment. We'll also meet with members of the State Government
Committee to discuss a clean elections law.

We want action on these critical issues! We're not going to let factory farms
and corporate mega-mergers run family farmers out of business, destroy our
communities & environment, jeodardize our health, and ruin our quality of
life. By working together, we can get things done. Be in Des Moines January
14th!

We want action - not lip service - on factory farm issues!
Family Farms, Yes! Factory Farms, No!
