Forwarded by Jane Clark for those in the Ames area:

Dear Friends,

YOU ARE INVITED, and pass the word!

Ames Smart Growth Alliance has invited me to present at their monthly
January meeting. In case we haven't met before, I am Stephanie Weisenbach,
the Program Coordinator for 1000 Friends of Iowa. I hope you can join us.

Monday, January 21
7:00 PM
Ames City Hall
Room 235
515 Clark Avenue

1000 Friends of Iowa is a statewide, membership based non-profit
organization based in Des Moines. Learn more at www.1000friendsofiowa.org

The presentation:

Going Green with Land Use Decisions

Responsible land use and wise transportation investments must be a part of
Iowa's response to climate change and energy security needs. You will hear
breaking news about some progress at the state level, challenges that lie
ahead in the debate over transportation funding, examples of local smart
growth solutions across Iowa, and what our allies across the nation are
doing to shift development patterns.

We hope to have enough time to brainstorm and discuss solutions for the
Ames area.
