Same disclaimer. This is the LTE version.

As you know, I am no longer EVEC funded, but moved to PAC funds and assigned
to help with a campaign, so I can no longer do these pieces, but I forward
this for your information and consideration. You might want to forward it to
a larger distribution or one of you, the EVEC committee, follow up.

I am only sending this to you, the EVEC committee members, and Erin, as that
is as far as I think I can distribute.

EVEC Friends,

Here's an LTE version of the Congress thingy, this is around 150 words, so
you should be able to add about two paragraphs on your candidates' records,
I recommend focusing on one or two key issues that work best in your area.
Let me know if you have any questions, Thanks and good luck!

Dear Editor,

Congress quit working last week to come home to campaign. This break
provides a good opportunity to examine how Congress addressed environmental
protection and what our candidates positions are on the issues that affect
the health and safety of [YOUR STATE] families.

While anti-environmental members of Congress were working to dismantle
environmental protections, Americans lost opportunities to hold polluting
corporations responsible for their toxic waste, to stop attempts to weaken
the clean air act, and to create a sensible energy policy.

Congress will again address our nation's energy policy, clean air, and
corporate responsibility for toxic waste, either in a "lame duck" session
or next year. That's why it's important to examine the environmental
records and positions of our candidates before voting on November 5th.

(Insert Your Local Candidates' records on one or two issues voter guide
style)

I urge people to get the facts before you vote. For more information go to
www.sierraclub.org/voter_education.
