Again our priceless coastal plain and other priceless wilderness is in
danger from being developed. We are urged to call Senators Harkin and
Grassley and ask them to keep any Alaska drilling out of the budget bill
and vote against Murkowski's amendment 371. We need as many Iowans to
show they care as possible. She's been very effective in blocking
protection for the Izembek by threatening to block Sally Jewell's
appointment as Secretary of State. Phyllis

Right now, the U.S. Senate is debating our nation’s budget blueprint for
2014 and Alaska’s Senator Lisa Murkowski is exploiting it to push the
agenda of Big Oil. She has introduced an amendment (#371) which would
open all of America’s Arctic – the Arctic Refuge, Arctic Ocean and
National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska (Reserve) – to oil and gas development.
