Corrected news release about the IPT program

Water Management in Iowa:

On the Friday, August 29 edition of The Iowa Journal

(Johnston, Iowa) - Thursday's episode of The Iowa Journal will explore water
management in Iowa. This program airs Friday, August 29 at 6:30 p.m. on
statewide Iowa Public Television. It will also be available online at
Iptv.org.

Two-thirds of the water reaching Iowa's landscape goes directly to rivers,
streams and lakes often causing flooding like was seen this summer in much
of Iowa. This episode of The Iowa Journal will explore ways to control storm
water in both rural and urban areas. The program will visit Okoboji, an Iowa
community that has established new rules for businesses and homes being
built or expanded. Okoboji is Iowa's first community requiring these
projects to incorporate techniques to control storm water runoff from
driveways and rooftops.

In the studio to talk about how all Iowans can help control storm water
runoff that often causes flooding, are Wayne Peterson, urban conservationist
with the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship and Mary
Skopec, supervisor of the Watershed Monitoring and Assessment Section of the
Iowa Department of Natural Resources.
