WASTEWATER IN DUBUQUE GOES TO CATFISH CREEK
MEDIA CONTACT: Clark Ott at (563) 927-2640 or [log in to unmask]
DUBUQUE -Untreated wastewater was flowing out of a manhole and into the upper end of North Catfish Creek in Dubuque Wednesday.
The city discovered the wastewater release at about 1 p.m. City staff were actively investigating the manhole and pipes near the Northwest Arterial and 2200 Samantha Drive.
There are no estimates available yet on the amount or duration of the release.
However, because the creek runs through the city, the DNR suggests keeping children and pets out of the creek for at least 48 hours.
The DNR does not anticipate taking enforcement action at this time.
