The Telegraph Herald reported this AM that the Iowa Natural Heritage
Foundation
has agreed to a deal with the Kistler family to purchase the 1000 acre
Ferguson- Kistler tract. This will form a contigous wild area of 3000 acres
including  portions of Yellow River State Forest and Effigy Mounds National
Monument. If Congress approves the proposed plan, this will be sold to and
become part of the monument. Otherwise it will probably be bought by the Iowa
DNR.
