In this email you will find:
1.  Alert/Link on today's great Argus/Dispatch
Alaska Coalition article
2.  Numbers for calling Reps and mailing news clips
this week

Dear Arctic Activists,

Though I have only a few hours left here in Iowa, I
can't refrain from sending you one last e-mail!  Even
as I box up the office and transfer materials to
volunteers here in town, the local media is *still*
looking for ways to help get the word out about your
valuable work.

If you haven't seen it already, please be sure to
check out page C1 of today's Rock Island Argus and
Moline Dispatch (accessible online at the link below).
http://www.qconline.com/archives/qco/sections.cgi?met!id!150280

There's a full column story there on the Alaska
Coalition's work in the Quad Cities with plenty of
great references to the work you have all done and
continue to do in Iowa and Illinois.

Speaking of continuing, two big things are happening
this week in Washington.
    *  First, the energy bill is expected to hit the
House floor for a vote... please call your Congressmen
at the numbers below.
    *  Second, Jim Nussle is sitting on the conference
committee to decide whether the pro-drilling House
budget version or the pro-protection Senate budget
bill will win and become law.  As the article talks a
lot about Jim Nussle *and* about the network we are
building to keep Arctic activists in communication,
PLEASE SEND JIM NUSSLE COPIES OF TODAY'S ARTICLE at
his addresses listed below.  He needs to know we're
still watching.

With the printing of today's article, this is a very
appropriate time for Letters to the Editor of the
Argus or Dispatch, especially if they mention the
article directly.  Keep them short and sweet and
they've got a great chance to be printed!  Let's
maximize the outreach we can get from this.  Let me
know if you get one in!

Thanks so much for your help!  Keep up the great
work.

Best Regards,

Jay Heeter
