Howdy Folks,
Several people have asked to see the letter we recieved from dear sweet GW
(Shrub) Bush. The letter was sent to my wife Jan. I never recieved my
copy. The Lone Star Chapter of the Sierra Club had a letter writing
campaign back in late 1995 and ran sometime through early to mid-1997. We
recieved GW Shrubs response in April of 1999.
GW is quoted as saying, "A new voluntary program is helping make our air
cleaner by bringing businesses and government together to modernize aging
factories and power plants to comply with our tough clean air laws. We
encourage such voluntary, innovative approaches in Texas".
This can be taken to mean that in Texas, the state will do nothing in
regards to pollution prevention because the Governor feels that industry
and business will take care of the problems, etc. all on their own
inititve. We all also know that Texas is the 2nd most polluted state
behind California.
We do not want this to carry on to Washington D.C.
Below is the URL on the Iowa Chapter website.

Read it and weap! Lets get out the message.
