Houston,Dallas,Fort Worth,El Paso, and Beaumont-Port
Arthur are on EPA's non attainment list and
Austin,Tyler,San Antonio,and longview are eligible.
Houston has beaten out Los angeles as having the
dirtiest air in the U.S.
In the last 5 years 56 out of 96 non attainment areas
got off the list; none of them were in Texas
Bushes much vaunted voluntary clean-up of
grandfathered air polluters has been a failure. "of
850 grandfathered polluters,28 have come up with a
plan to reduce pollution, but only 3 have actuallly
done so.
