Subject: [IOWA-NATIVE-PLANTS] New report, "Climate Change Impacts on Iowa"
I wanted to share a report that I edited, which just was released today. Please see the links below – one for the Executive Summary (which is as much as most people will look at), and one for the complete report.
Climate Change Impacts on Iowa 2010 - Executive Summary, *pdf
Climate Change Impacts on Iowa 2010 - Complete Report, *pdf
I’ll also attach the link to the editorial in today’s DM Register, which will introduce you to the report a bit.
http://www.desmoinesregister.com/article/20110104/OPINION01/101040339/1036/OPINION/Guest-column-Build-Iowa-s-resilience-to-climate-change
And here is the UI press release on the report:

This was the result of a legislative mandate to prepare a report for the Governor and Legislature. The report was written by profs from all 3 regents institutions. The timing of the report’s release is not the best. However I was pleased to be involved with this, as I think it is a very important subject, and also because I think this will become a significant baseline document.
Please help spread the word about this in any way that you can, and feel free to use it in any way you wish. Thanks, Connie Mutel
