Subject: Fish And Wildlife Service o Phase-Out GE Crops and Bee-killing Pesticides

Passing along from Center for FoodSafety

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) willphase out the use of genetically engineered (GE) crops to feedwildlife and ban neonicotinoid insecticides from all wildlife refugesnationwide by January 2016.

The FWS decision follows a longstandinggrassroots, legal, and policy campaign by Center for Food Safety (CFS)and Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility (PEER) to endthe harmful practices.

From 2005-2014, CFS and PEER filed fivelawsuits, two legal petitions, and countless administrativeactions.

FWS is the first federal agency to restrictthe use of GE crops and neonicotinoids in farming in theU.S.

* CFS, PEER, Beyond Pesticides, and SierraClub are currently litigating FWS's allowance of industrialagriculture practices on Midwest Wildlife Refuges.
