Water Monitoring on Walnut Creek

The Central Iowa Sierra Group will be sponsoring water quality monitoring
events on the following dates:

May 23, Thursday
June 17, Monday
July 24, Wednesday
August 15, Thursday

The starting time is 7PM and should only take two hours. The location is in
Clive on Walnut Creek at the Greenbelt Park; which is at the intersection of
Swanson Blvd. and 100th Street in Clive. The normal chemical tests of
temperature, pH, levels of dissolved oxygen, phosphate, ammonia, nitrate,
nitrite, and turbidity will be done and a sweep for  macroinvertebrates.

The monitoring that is done can help to establish trends in water quality.
Volunteers benefit by learning more about their local water resources.  Call
