NEWTON — A broken sewer line has led to an unknown amount of untreated wastewater reaching a tributary of Cherry Creek in Lambs Grove, just west of Newton in Jasper County.
The City of Lambs Grove reports that an 8-inch sewer line broke sometime Tuesday, sending the sewage to the creek just west of Walnut Drive. It has also hired a plumber to repair the sewer line on Thursday.
